A £1.55m capital investment scheme to boost tree planting capacity in the Welsh forestry sector is open for applications.
The Forestry Industry Recovery Scheme is available to enterprises involved in the sustainable harvesting of trees in Wales and for farmers and landowners involved in growing trees in Wales.
Eligible areas include equipment to tree nurseries to increase their capacity to supply trees, ground preparation equipment, equipment for tree safety works for trees affected by Ash Dieback, and equipment and technology that improves harvesting of timber which is shown to improve sustainable forest management.
Proposed investments must show that a viable market has been identified for their product(s) and that the project would not proceed without the grant. The scheme is discretionary with a maximum single grant of 200,000 Euros (£180,000) available for eligible projects.
The scheme is open for applications until October 18, 2020.
