Annual Sheep and Goat inventory for England

December 02, 2019 at 12:55 PM

The annual sheep and goat inventory for farmers in England should be completed for 1st December.

and returned to Defra by 31st December. You should receive your forms in the post or via email from DEFRA.

In addition, you should include your annual inventory total as at 1st December in your holding register.

This is a requirement of cross compliance rule Statutory Management Requirement (SMR) 8: Sheep and goat identification.

The holding register document should be retained on your holding and will be reviewed at an inspection.

There has been some change to the wording of the document stressing the importance of all producers

returning the form in case the information is used for future market support schemes.
