Another chance to apply for farm business grants

Farmers in Wales are being offered another chance to apply for a farm business grant up to £12,000 to help improve the economic and environmental performance of their holdings.

The Welsh Government - Farm Business Grant - Window 6 opened on March 4,  2019 and to be eligible to apply you must have attended a Farming Connect, Farming for the Future roadshow event being held as follows:.  

06/03/2019 – Newtown - Elephant and Castle Hotel, Broad St, Newtown, SY16 2BQ

07/03/2019 – Llanarth - Llanina Arms Hotel, Llanarth, Ceredigion, SA47 0NP

12/03/2019 – Bethesda - Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen, Coetmor Rd, Bethesda, Bangor LL57 3NN

13/03/2019 – Pencoed - St. Mary's Hotel and Golf Club, St Mary's Hill, Pencoed CF35 5EA

14/03/2019 – Llandovery - The Castle Hotel, Kings Rd, Llandovery SA20 0AP

Doors open at each event for mandatory signing in at 7pm, the event will begin at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm. Booking in advance is essential.

 “In order to be eligible for the grant, the business applying must be registered with Farming Connect prior to a member of the business booking a place in advance of attending a Farming Connect Farming for the Future event,” said Kathryn Williams of Davis Meade Property Consultants.

“The grant scheme provides a 40 per cent contribution towards capital investments in equipment and machinery that have been pre-identified as offering clear and measurable benefits to farm enterprises.

“Grants of between £3,000 and £12,000 are available to invest in around 70 items linked to animal health; genetics and performance; crop management; energy efficiency; resource efficiency and ICT.”

Farmers can apply for Expressions of Interest for the grant until April 12.
