Removal of Greening Rules

September 02, 2020 at 9:29 AM

Farmers will no longer be required to comply with complex rules around crop diversification, Ecological Focus Areas and greening permanent grassland, following the government announcement of the removal of greening rules from the direct payments regime for 2021.  He change means 30% of the current overall BPS payment associated with these conditions will be reallocated to the BPS entitlements. Further details on Gov.UK website

Countryside Stewardship 2021 – Due to the ending of the BPS greening obligation from 2021 onwards, the risk that an activity could be double-funded under both Countryside Stewardship and BPS is removed. RPA will be pro-actively contacting all CS 2021 Mid-Tier and Higher Tier applicants with a history of declaring greening features on their BPS applications to alert them to this opportunity.
