Time to put forward development sites in Blaenau Gwent

December 13, 2018 at 3:16 PM

Land and property owners in Blaenau Gwent with land that may be suitable for development are being invited to contact the Council over the next few months so that land can be considered for inclusion in future plans.

Blaenau Gwent is reviewing its Local Development Plan (LDP) and has opened a Call for Candidate Sites. This first call for candidate sites closes in December 2018 and there will be a further call for candidate sites at the beginning of 2020.

Kathryn Williams, a land agent with Davis Meade Property Consultants, says this could be an area of land that someone wants to be considered for inclusion in the Plan or to protect from development.

“This is an opportunity for people to contribute their ideas to shape the future of their county and suggest sites that might be suitable for housing or employment or social and leisure  activities,” she said.

“All submitted candidate sites will undergo stringent assessment procedures to determine their suitability for further consideration as part of the LDP process.

“Also, if you have a site that was included in the previous plan you should re-submit it in this call if you still want it to be included.”

All candidate sites will need to be submitted via standard forms available on the Council’s website or you can contact Davis Meade Property Consultants for advice or help with competing the forms.

You can keep up to date with the new LDP at http://www.blaenau-gwent.gov.uk/en/resident/planning/local-development-plan/local-development-plan-2018-2033/ or contact Kathryn Williams at Davis Meade Property Consultants on 01691 659658 or email kathrynwilliams@dmpcuk.com
