UPDATE: Delinked Payments for 2026 & 2027
🚜 Defra has confirmed major reductions to delinked payments following the 2025 Spending Review. If your business currently receives these payments, it’s important to understand what’s changing and how to prepare. 🚜
From 2026 and 2027, delinked payments will be reduced as follows:

Reference amounts up to £30,000 → 98% reduction

Amounts over £30,000 → 100% reduction on anything above £30,000
👉 These reductions apply to your reference amount, not your 2025 payment figure.
📌 What does that look like?
• A £20,000 reference amount will result in a £400 payment (down from £4,800 in 2025).
• A £40,000 reference amount will result in a £600 payment (down from £7,200 in 2025).
These are significant changes, and we recognise this will impact cashflow planning for many businesses.
🌱 The reductions are intended to free up funding for environmental schemes aimed at delivering Environment Act targets and supporting long-term food security.
📅 Payments for both 2026 and 2027 are expected to be made as single payments in August each year.
